YOU MIGHT RECOGNISE HER FROM… everyone’s feet at Milan fashion week. With her amazing practical, wearable but wholly unique designs, she’s the perfect choice for a day shoe with a difference. Her Michi platform ankle boots were a must-have wardrobe acquisition for AW12/13 and her raffia wedges are the lady’s choice for her SS13 summer dresses.

WE LOVE HER BECAUSE… she’s stuck to her roots. After studying Architecture at degree level, you can see the influence of those forms and shapes in her sculpted shoes. She signals Mies von de Rohe and Le Corbusier among her inspirations, and manages to make those interesting and intellectual references work in a fashion sense, thanks to her time studying at Central Saint Martins.

Carlotta tweeted this picture of herself in luxurious leather with some of eye-popping Michi boots.
WE CAN’T WAIT FOR… a visit to the Shoe Obsession exhibition at the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology. A collection of some of the most renowned, famous and revered shoes in history; de la Luca’s ‘Zaha’ heel was hand selected by the curator to represent the modern day. After being a finalist in Vogue Italia’s prestigious ‘Who is on Next’ 2012 awards, it’s no surprise she’s in the spotlight.
INTERESTINGLY, before founding her own company, Carlotta de Luca worked for epic Italian brand, Fendi. Her dream is to one day open a shoe boutique in New York, a city that certainly suits her signature urban cut-out shoes.
