Equals – Daniel Craig in drag for International Women’s Day
Although at first titillating and amusing to see Daniel Craig as James Bond, forced into fake breasts and long hair, the deeper message behind this video is thought provoking at the very least.
With Judi Dench as ‘M’ quoting jaw-dropping statistics about the vulnerability and exploitation of women in the UK, it quickly becomes apparent that the term ‘equality’ is still a contentious word within gender roles in our society.
The film was directed by Nowhere Boy creator Sam Taylor-Wood, and is the first ever Bond film to be directed by a woman.
If the issues raised in the video touched or affected you in any way, consider spending a mere £40 on some specially designed t-shirts by Harper’s Bazaar and Browns which support International Women’s Day.
Isabel Marant, Chloe, Nathalie Rykiel, Agnes B, Martine Sitbon and Vanessa Bruno are the six French designers who have put unique and original designs on white t-shirts, the proceeds of which will go to Women for Women, our chosen charity, which puts hard work and money into educating women who have suffered the effects of war, and helping them gain independence and stability.
