I’d describe myself as a 'lifestyle contributor'. Everything should be more beautiful and fun: be it a well-cut dress, a trip to the Caribbean or a simple plate of pasta. I have an insatiable thirst for travelling and admiring great arts gives me immense joy. Curiosity is my driving force. And being Italian born helps lots.

How do you make your handbag weather proof?

couture guests in the snow

Recently I was at the Couture Shows in Paris, and the weather was not very clement.

It had been snowing all week, and of course, on our way to the much expected Dior show, the snow had been at its worst.

Big thick flakes were coming down while we had to cross the whole of the Tuileries Gardens, not a joyful view, considering that the high heel wearing women had to fight with a wet and mud-like carpet.

All of a sudden I was struck by the vision of a chinchilla fur wearing client and her four daughters all carrying a ‘cloth’ with a handle. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such an eccentric look.

We entered the big room where the show was going to take place, and I spotted the above women again, as very softly they lifted the fabric, to reveal their shiny crocodile handbags. Nice and dry and looking perfect. Top tip? Dress your fancy items up as Halloween ghosts in an uncertain and potentially damaging climate – bizarre but oh so effective.
