Loulou Robert

NAME: Loulou Robert
AGE: 20
FROM: France
OCCUPATION: Model

Loulou Robert by Max Von Gumppenberg & Patrick Bienert for the Vogue Germany December 2012 issue.
SIGNATURE STYLE: Very French. All black, top-knots, slouchy knits, pouty poses. Also very comfortable with being naked, as seen in her famous shoot with Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Classic Parisian style with her signature pout
YOU MAY RECOGNISE HER FROM… V Magazine’s Spring Issue, and walking next to Cara Delevingne at the Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013 show. Being reasonably short for a model at 5’7″, Robert was told that she would only be suitable for editorial shoots, rather than runway walks, but she got her big break this season, wearing a white LV playsuit. Being paired with one of fashion’s most famous faces was also pretty lucky.

WE LOVE HER BECAUSE… Pretension and self adoration are not part of her personality. Before she became a model she was a normal girl studying in Paris. She describes herself as being a bit of a loner, who never considered herself to be beautiful. It wasn’t until her boyfriend urged her to try modelling that she was signed to WM Model Management in Paris, and discovered by Inez & Vinoodh after being featured in Treats! magazine.

Loulou Robert by Katja Rahlwes for The Gentlewoman
WE CAN’T WAIT FOR… her first Vogue UK cover. Realistically, it’s only a matter of months away. She’s already been in V, and The Gentlewoman, photographed by Katja Rahlwes, and was styled by Emmanuelle Alt for Vogue Paris November Issue. Having said that, her favourite place in the world right now is New York, so maybe Wintour’s realm will capture her first.

INTERESTINGLY, Robert had never considered being a model before she was signed, and actually had pretty negative ideas about the industry. She’s starting to warm to it now, but refuses to conform to model stereotypes, continuing to eat her favourite foods (Thai and Korean) and making lots of pasta. Her ideal career is to be a writer. Well, with a glamorous life like this, filled with adventure (she rode an elephant to switch on the Louis Vuitton Christmas lights last week), she’ll have plenty of stories to tell.
