Look of the day: Maria’s Earl Grey look

Although colour pop trends seem to be, indeed, popping up everywhere this season, sometimes it’s the subtle approach that makes more of an impact. Taking a great versatile colour, like Maria has done with grey, can provide the ultimate canvas for making a statement with every other shade of the rainbow.
Two different but equally gorgeous textures with the suede Isabel Marant leggings and the Alice + Olivia tweed jacket provide an already interesting base for the look, and with the Malene Birger reptile print bag, there is already a visual array that catches the eye without the colour. The YSL pumps, also in suede, seem to continue on from the leggings, giving the illusion of endless legs and stunning shape.
Now for the element of genius. The Muzungu Sisters incredible Jaipur long beads have that spicy collective colour that brings the entire outfit to life and turns it from a standard city outfit to something creative and chic. The bright and inviting Thomas Sabo watch pushes orange to the next level, and matched with the slate soft tones of the grey, provides a very modern and very urban look. However, we agree with Maria that the grace and simplicity of this outfit is very stately indeed, and about as lingering, delicate and memorable as our favourite morning tea.
