People are just about recovering from the frenzy and hysteria of the Versace for H&M collection, when the high street superstore announce yet another collaboration, this time with Italian luxury brand Marni.

Consuelo Castiglioni, the creative director or Marni, and H&M’s head honcho Margareta van den Bosch will be working together to create a spring collection rife with prints. The clothes and accessories will be available from March 8 2012, at 260 stores worldwide.

Castiglioni has revealed that the clothes will have a classic Marni cut and shape, with full pleated skirts, cropped trousers and jacquard knits. The patterns will be African inspired or bold graphic prints which celebrate rich earthy colours in a bright and fun way, perfect for the warmer spring weather, and for the match/clash print trend that is projected for Spring Summer 2012.

After recent collaborations with Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld and Jimmy Choo – this is yet another leap into the world of high fashion. When designer and high street brands come together, the results can be interesting, and with world renowned designers creating clothes at H&M prices, the demand for these kind of projects will only grow. We just hope that people won’t lose their minds as they seemed they might with the Versace project. It would be terrifying to walk past H&M’s flag ship store on Regent St and see people already queuing to get their hands on some Marni magic.
