Tune in this morning for the second installment of the Power Dressing project from Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio. From yesterday the photographer has been streaming a live photo shoot from the site, for V magazine, where supermodel Lara Stone learns self defence in designer Spring Summer 2012 looks.
Styled by Carine Roitfeld, Stone looks immaculate as she learns attack and defence moves to encourage self preservation in young women, taught by personal trainer Jonathan Bullock.

Net protection: Wearing fishnet Valentino dress over Carine Gilson slip.
Knight was inspired to create this project from two very different sources. The ideas behind female dress codes and personal attacks have been discussed many times, by academics, lawyers and victims of crime. Controversial points about women ‘asking’ for the crimes committed against them by wearing provocative night-life clothing provoked huge reactions in women all over London last year. This resulted in the ‘Slutwalk’ movement, where a march protesting these barriers to freedom was held, with every participant scantily clad. With this in mind, and the safety of his own teenage daughters, Knight couldn’t help but challenge the perceptions behind fashion and self defence.

A powerful look: white Chanel dress with Valentino bag and Prada sandals.
With Lara Stone as his subject, one of the most beautiful women in the world, the face of Calvin Klein and 2010′s BFA model of the year, he just needed a collection of stunning clothes to dress her in, so that she could prepare for her intense training. With looks from Givenchy, Balenciaga, Chanel, Valentino and Louis Vuitton, chosen by Roitfeld, she has been transformed into an unstoppable force in fashion and in fighting.

Trained in one of the Israeli Defence Forces most intimidating self defence systems, Krav Maga, it’s time to see what gorgeous looks she’ll be wearing this morning, and what terrifying moves she’ll be pulling.
