Pulp is reforming: here’s how to dress like Jarvis

The Fortunyverse. By Margo Fortuny.

Pulp is reforming this summer to play at both Primavera Sound festival in Spain and Wireless festival in London. Let’s put on a Pulp song and take a look at the thinking woman’s heartthrob Jarvis Cocker, shall we? He’s perfected the sexy literature professor look of tweed jackets, velvet blazers and narrow trousers. This is a great look for a boyfriend…or for you. The 1970s career woman was all over catwalks for autumn winter 2011 and androgynous style has been hot since the YSL tuxedo premiered. So take a page out of Jarvis’s book…

High-waisted jeans, white Jackie O sunglasses, bedhead, narrow trousers & a blazer- how cool is Pulp?!

Rockin’ On Magazine '9

Cotton Jasmine Striped Shirt by Toggi, £32.

Jarvis rocks the military coat for Anabas Magazine. You can too. Wool & Cashmere Peacoat. £650 from uk.burberry.com

Nice Specs, Jarvis. Where can I find a pair?

Prada? Great!  £195 from Visionexpress.

Or if you’ve got loads of time (and a minimal budget) scour Oxfam and jumble sales. Like Pulp circa ‘92.

Recommended Items: double-breasted coats, tight button-up shirts, woolly jumpers, burgundy cords, black vintage flared jeans, and interesting eyewear.
