The new jeans you need
Slouchy, but not sloppy, cropped but not skinny – the new new cuts from PRPS. MiH and J Brand just the jean to make your life infinitely better in autumn.
Is that an overstatement? Not if you’ve ever battled to find the jean. The endless jean fight is why some us stick with the one, boring style for years.
The PRPS are cut high-ish at the waist, capturing the seventies mum look that’s so Chloe this season, and they’re looser than your old skinnies. They capture the whole style over sex feel that we’re falling for in autumn.
Tuck in a denim shirt and throw on your camel coatcape for the look o’ the season. No cape or camel anything yet? Visit an aunt’s closet. There must be some camel whatsits rattling around in a closet near you.
The J Brand Gigi crop with a slight flare is another look we love for autumn. The crop makes you feel like you’re still on August holidays (remember that sun?) plus the cropped trews work very well with the heeled hiking boots we’re after. They’re very Isabel Marant, and if you’re working a fifties vibe for autumn, they’re just the cut for you. Wear with a cropped stripey banded sweater from Jaeger or Etoile Isabel Marant for the complete look.
Liberty and Made in Heaven have teamed up to bring us a gorgeous cropped jean with a delicate tone-on-tone feather print. The print called Dakota is straight out of the Liberty archives, and makes us want to part with £175 because they have that subtle look again element. Anything Liberty makes us feel in touch with our British design heritage, but these are also just so up-to-date.
