White Shoes
Do you live in New York, London, Milan or Paris? If the answer is yes, then lucky you. However, it’s a universal truth that if you’re dwelling in a fashionable city, some of the new looks just aren’t that practical. White shoes have to be one of the trickiest trends for SS13, but just looking at those beautiful creamy leathers has us salivating and reaching for our wallets. If we’re honest, whether you’re in the depths of the muddy countryside or striding through the dust of an urban landscape, you’re going to need a pair of white shoes that will be as easy to wear as they are on the eye.

1. Prada, Single Band Sandal; £412, motilo.com
The chunky simplicity of these Prada sandals are just crying out for a pair of tanned pins to fill them with fun. The generous ankle and toe straps ensure comfort, while that chunky heel looks sturdy enough to deal with the onslaught of an unforgiving pavement.
2. Alexander Wang, Agata Leather T-Strap Sandals; £511, motilo.com
Another chunky strap, but this time that cheeky perspex T-Bar makes all the difference. This is what we’d like to call the ‘bloggers choice’, and will be donning everyone’s feet for next season’s shows in September.
3. Valentino, Rockstud Gladiator Sandal; £530, motilo.com
The gladiator sandal has become a firm favourite for the summer flat option. Underneath a maxi, or with a billowing floral dress, these white studded Valentino beauties will be gorgeously flattering to your legs, while being almost shamefully comfortable.
4. Kurt Geiger, Ella Leather Sandal; £195, motilo.com
Not a fan of getting your toes out? No worries, as these Kurt Geigers jump on the ’90s thick heel bandwagon, but with an almond toe and ingenious ankle strap.
5. Stella McCartney, Natalie Canvas Wedge Shoes; £425, motilo.com
Stella McCartney saw how beautiful and vintage looking white raffia wedges were last season and decided to turn that purity up to 10 by making the whole shoe a blinding white. Something to offset your favourite beach outfit.
6. Acne, Brush Cowboy Boots; £550, motilo.com
These are for the risk takers among you. Want to add some cowboy chic to your favourite pair of jeans or add some kitch to a minidress? Acne have the answer, but be prepared for a whole lotta upkeep.
7. Saint Laurent, Leather Pumps; £370, motilo.com
Sex appeal comes in many forms, but as far as summer shoes are concerned, these monochrome Saint Laurent pumps are potentially our favourites. All of the carefree femininity of the white shoe, but that black sole and inner add a darkly sensuous element…plus they’ll hide dirt too, making them surprisingly more practical.
8. Pierre Hardy, Leather High-top Sneakers; £300, motilo.com
For the casual dressers, these high tops have all the bright white ’80s appeal that you need to pull of the look, with a personal twist of bright eye-popping pink zip.
9. Chloe, Leather Espadrilles; £225, motilo.com
Something about espadrilles have the same effect as a cocktail with lunch. Everything seems filled with sunshine and infinitely more relaxing afterwards. The high-low mix of that cork-material sole and the large leather straps make these as credible in the fashion world as they will be in the supermarket.
10. Converse, Chuck Taylor All Star Low; £63, motilo.com
Of course, we had to pop in the ultimate classic white shoe – the converse trainer! They go with everything, they look as good shiny and new as they do weathered and smudged with dirt.
